Government Involved

It’s the government’s job to manage health care providers.  Reach out and involve them.  You can find contact information for your members of parliament and provincial parliament and the federal and provincia/territorial health ministers online. 

Reach out to them and tell them your story.  When you write or speak with them:  

Take action: Build relationships, communicate, set up your meetings or appointments, follow-up and don’t give up! Change takes time and it is important that you remain focused and persistent in what you hope to see.

 

Be genuine and clear: tell your story and why is access to screening and treatment options important to you 

Be objectivedriven and consistent: focus on the action you need from your elected representative.   

Be politeYou’re asking for help, but you can be insistentFollow up consistently and regularly.
